Update Statement on the MUHC’s Glen Campus

Published: 13 October 2009

The MUHC is now in its fifth week of the Evaluation Process of the detailed public-private-partnership (PPP) proposals for the Glen Campus.  This process is following the schedule set out by the Request for Proposals (RFP) in October 2008.  A September 16, 2009 decree issued by the Government of Quebec has no impact on the schedule presented to our partners.

The Fairness Advisor, who was appointed by the Government of Quebec to oversee the PPP process, is independent of the MUHC, the Agence des PPP and the Government’s Executive Director’s office. The Advisor has confirmed that all rules and regulations have been followed since the launch of the RFP. Compliance ensures that the winning PPP proposal has been selected with objectivity and impartiality. It also leads to the best value: modern and environmentally-friendly facilities that will make a huge difference in the health and well-being of all Quebecers.

The Selection Committee, co-chaired by the Hon. Arthur T. Porter, Director General and CEO of the MUHC, and Senator W. David Angus, Chairman of the MUHC Board of Directors, is overseeing the sub-committees that are analysing meticulously every aspect of the proposals.  The project is on schedule for the announcement of the preferred bidder on December 3, thanks to the unwavering dedication of all MUHC representatives and Government-designated partners.
