Update on labour negotiations

Published: 8 May 2008

McGill is disappointed that members of the Union representing striking Teaching Assistants voted earlier this week to reject the University’s global offer, which we feel was good and fair.

The parties met Wednesday evening, May 7, in the presence of the conciliator. They are scheduled to meet again on Monday, May 12. We are hopeful a settlement will be reached in the near future.

In the meantime, the University takes seriously its responsibility to plan for the possibility that classes could resume in the fall with the TAs still on strike.
