Unveiling of Inspirational Mural in MUHC Radiation Oncology Department

Published: 9 October 2007

As part of the ongoing efforts to support cancer patients, the MUHC and Avon will unveil an inspirational mural in the MUHC department of Radiation Oncology, on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 10:00 am.

Sponsored by Avon, this artistic project was created by Healing Art Environments to inspire and support patients through their treatment. The large mural in the Radiation Oncology waiting room at the Montreal General is a reproduction of the original mural artwork in the Breast Cancer Clinic at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Dr Carolyn Freeman, Director of Radiation Oncology at the MUHC, says “We understand the stress that cancer causes our patients and we try to cultivate an environment that is comforting and calming for them. This mural will enhance our waiting area by providing a soothing and uplifting ambiance that our patients, their families and our staff will appreciate. We are very grateful to Avon for their generosity”

Members of the media are invited to the unveiling of this inspirational mural:
