Two prizes for Professor Robert Leckey
The Canadian Association of Law Teachers has awarded Professor Robert Leckey its annual prize for a work by a newer scholar that has made a "substantial contribution to legal literature" for his paper on "Thick Instrumentalism and Comparative Constitutionalism: The Case of Gay Rights" (2009) 40 Columbia Human Rights Law Review 425 (read on SSRN).
This comes on the heels of the news that Professor Leckey has won the John W. Durnford Award for Teaching Excellence in this same year, which will be presented to him at the 2009 Convocation ceremony by the . According to his nomination letter, Robert Leckey received an overwhelming amount of student support. Students cited his hard work, passion and commitment both inside and outside the classroom.
