MONTREAL -- Three seniors from the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Martlets were selected in the Canadian Women's Hockey League draft on July 18.

Goaltender Charline Labonté of Boisbriand, Que., was taken in the first-round, fifth overall, by the Montreal Stars, while forward Ann-Sophie Bettez of Sept-Iles, Que., went in the second round, 10th overall, also to the Stars, and centre Jordanna Peroff of Keswick, Ont., was a fifth-round pick, 22nd overall, by the Toronto Furies.

Of the 61 players drafted, 15 were produced from CIS institutions, 24 wereÌý chosen from NCAA institutions and 22 came out of junior, midget and other leagues.

Bettez, an alternate captain who received a BLG Award in April as the CIS female athlete on the year, finished second among Quebec conference leaders in both points (37) and assists (24) in 20 contests. The 5-foot-4 forward and 24-year-old marketing major is a two-time league MVP and was five-time all-Canadian. She graduated as McGill's all-time leader in goals (148), assists (175) and points (323) in 196 games overall.

Peroff, an alternate captain who graduated in 2011 with an arts degree in religious studies, returned for a fifth season and completed a certificate in leadership. In 194 career contests overall, she scored 139 points, including 57 markers.
