Synchro wins second straight CUSSL championship

ST. CATHARINES, ONT – The McGill Martlets captured their second consecutive Geraldine Dubrule trophy as champions of the Canadian University Synchronized Swimming League at Brock University, Sunday.

McGill dominated the meet, winning five categories, including the team routine, which garnered the John Drake trophy for the second straight year. The McGill white squad was first of 18 entries, while the Red squad finished eighth.

Freshman Jennifer Gill-Wilson was first of 10 competitors in the solo routine, while teammate Kaley Keeling was sixth.

The duo of Ami Feige from Toronto and Stephanie Landry of Saint John, N.B., won the duet event for the second straight year, finishing first of 15 entries.

Sophomores Vanessa Foucher of Toronto and Julie Dumont of Richmond, B.C., combined to capture the novice duet category. Teammates Marianna Horn and Hannah State finished third.

Foucher also came in third in the novice solo routine.
