Social Gerontology at the School - New Journal Club

Published: 13 November 2015

The Centre for Research and Expertise in Social Gerontology (CREGÉS) satellite office is a space where students interested in aging issues can network, provide mutual support and share their research interests and practice experiences. The satellite office works in collaboration with the main principles of CREGÉS, the Center for research and expertise in social gerontology at the Cavendish University affiliated Health and social service centre. These principles include the transfer of knowledge from academic and practice settings, the dissemination of research from a multidisciplinary approach and the development of state of the art practice interventions.

The CREGES – McGill School of Social Work Satellite Office is launching a Social Gerontology Journal Club. This is a monthly get together for faculty and students interested in social gerontology and will be a fun and insightful space for people to discuss current issues in social gerontology research and practice while having lunch. We will also include a “meet the author” component to the journal club where the author of the reviewed article will be present to provide context and answer questions. If you are interested in social gerontology, we hope you can join us!
