McGill's Ronald Melzack, a scientist who helps explain pain, has won the University of Louisville's Grawemeyer Award for Psychology. Melzack said he was 鈥渁bsolutely astonished鈥� to learn he had won the award, which comes with a $200,000 prize and will be given at U of L in April. Five Grawemeyer Awards are presented annually for outstanding works in music composition, ideas improving world order, psychology, education and religion.
