MONTREAL - Sonny Wolfe, head coach of the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Redmen, has announced the team's 2011 fall schedule, the 131st season of football on the downtown campus.

The Redmen have a 10-game schedule on tap, including their preseason home-opener on Aug. 26 at Percival Molson Memorial Stadium against the Ottawa Gee-Gees, who finished first in the Ontario conference last year with a 7-1 record and went to the OUA's Yates Cup championship game.

McGill is slated to play home-and-home matchups against Montreal, Bishop's and Concordia, with single games against Sherbrooke, Acadia and Laval, the defending Vanier Cup champs.

The Redmen will make the short jaunt across Mt. Royal to open their Quebec University Football League season on Sept. 1, to take on the Montreal Carabins at CEPSUM Stadium. ÌýOther road games will be played at Acadia (Sept. 17), at Laval (Sept. 25), at Concordia in the 25th annual Shrine Bowl (Oct. 8) and at Bishop's (Oct. 23).

At Molson Stadium, McGill has two games pencilled in on Friday nights, including their official home-opener against Sherbrooke on Sept. 9 and the annual "Fill the Stadium" contest versus Bishop's on Sept. 30. Saturday fixtures include the Homecoming game against the Carabins on Oct. 15 and the 43rd annual Shaughnessy Cup showdown against Concordia on Oct. 29, which will also serve as fan appreciation day.

Post-season play begins with the QUFL semifinals on Nov. 5, followed by the Dunsmore Cup conference final (Nov. 12). The Mitchell Bowl national semifinal will feature the Quebec conference winner playing on the road against the Canada West champions on Nov. 19, followed by the CIS final for the Vanier Cup to be held in Vancouver, B.C., Nov. 25.

Season ticket packages for McGill's home games are now on sale for only $39, a savings of $16 off the price of purchasing single-game tickets. Packages that include a parking permit at Molson Stadium are priced at $71. A McGill T-shirt is included with each season ticket purchased. Also, a Molson pre-game tailgate party, featuring live entertainment and a refreshment tent, will be held one hour before each home game.
