Professor Vedat Verter wins Canadian Operations Research Society award

Professor Vedat Verter has won the 2007 Service Prize from the Canadian Operations Research Society (CORS). This award is given to one or two people each year by the Society to acknowledge an outstanding contribution to the development of operations research in Canada.
Professor Verter was Secretary of CORS for four years (2003-2007), and played key roles in the organization of the 2003 CORS/INFORMS International conference at Banff, and the 2006 CORS national meeting in Montreal. He also co-edited a special issue of the Society's refereed journal, INFOR, on integrative health management, and represented Canadian OR experts in international conferences on transportation and location science.
