Professor Nancy J. Adler receives tribute from the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal

At the 15th annual Networking Dinner, with this year's theme "Rare Pearls," the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal paid tribute to 33 exceptional and authentic women from various sectors of activity who have distinguished themselves through their commitment and exceptional accomplishments. The prestigious annual event took place at the Hilton Montreal Bonaventure Hotel on Thursday, June 5, 2003. Dr. Adler was selected as one of the rare pearls amongst the 33 who were paid tribute to during this event.

Dr. Adler joined McGill's Faculty of Management in 1980. Her international acclaim results not only from her widely disseminated research, but also from her active teaching role abroad. A prolific writer and an eminent expert in her field, she has authored numerous articles, has produced the film A Portable Life, and has published various books. She is well known internationally as a keynote speaker, and serves on numerous boards.

Dr. Adler consults and conducts research on global leadership, cross-cultural management, strategic international human resource management, and women as global leaders. She consults with major global companies and government organizations on projects in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North and South America.

Dr. Adler received Ï㽶ÊÓƵ's first Distinguished Teaching Award in Management and is one of only a few professors to be so honoured a second time. She also received ASTD's International Leadership Award, SIETAR's Outstanding Senior Intercultural Award, the YWCA's Woman of Distinction Award, and the Sage Award for scholarly contributions to management. She was selected as a 3M Teaching Fellow honouring her as one of Canada's top university professors, and elected to both the Fellows of the Academy of International Business and the Academy of Management Fellows.
