Professor Chandra Madramootoo elected President of ICID

Professor Chandra Madramootoo, Dean of McGill’s Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, has been elected President of the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID). Professor Madramootoo has been an active member of the ICID for the past 20 years. He served as the organization’s Vice-President from 2000 to 2003.

Established in 1950, the ICID is dedicated to enhancing the worldwide supply of food and fibre for all people by improving water and land management and the productivity of irrigated and drained lands through the appropriate management of water and the environment and the application of irrigation, drainage and flood management techniques.
