The Montreal Children's Hospital appoints new chief of surgery
Dr. Linda Christmann, Associate Executive Director of the Montreal Children's Hospital of the MUHC, is pleased to announce that Dr. Jean-Pierre Farmer has accepted the position of Chief of Surgery at the Children's.
Dr. Farmer is a graduate of Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science and medical and graduate degrees. He did his post-graduate training in neurosurgery at the MUHC and Jewish General Hospital.
He is currently Associate Dean, Post-graduate Medical Education and Professional Training, in the Faculty of Medicine at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, as well as a professor in the departments of oncology, and neurology and neurosurgery.
In 2001, Dr. Farmer was appointed Director of the American Board of Pediatric Neurosurgery, a position he continues to hold.
Dr. Farmer has been a staff neurosurgeon at the Montreal Children's Hospital since 1990. He also holds positions at both the Shriners Hospital and the Montreal Neurological Hospital.
