MITI at Mac: Graduate Teaching Workshop

Published: 13 July 2007

Macdonald Innovations for Teaching Improvement (MITI), a project funded through the generosity of Anne and Stewart Brown, is proud to present a free graduate teaching workshop at Macdonald Campus on September 6 and 7, 2007, from 9 am-2:30 pm. This workshop will be taught by Teaching Fellows who are part of the Tomlinson Project in University-Level Science Education (T-PULSE).

The workshop offers participants the opportunity to reflect upon their own approaches toward teaching, to develop skills for demonstrating in laboratories and discussion sections, and to provide a foundation for future academic positions.

They will provide strategies for improving the relationship between teaching and learning and explore learner-centred approaches to teaching that can be easily used in the lab or classroom.

This workshop is designed for Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences graduate students, especially those who are TAing or considering careers in academia. Participants will be selected for interest in teaching and relevant experience. TAs for the fall with no previous experience are especially encouraged to apply.

Space is limited / lunch provided
