Published: 7 November 2007

"From Microscope to Stethoscope," the distinguished public lecture series organized by the Research Institute of the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Health Centre (MUHC), will continue tomorrow.

Our guide for the second journey of this year into the heart of the research labs of the MUHC will be Dr Lawrence Rosenberg, Director of the Centre for Pancreatic Diseases at the MUHC, and Professor in the departments of Medicine and Surgery in the McGill Faculty of Medicine. He will share with us his latest findings on diabetes. He will give us a glimpse at the innovative technique that is being shaped inside his lab that may lead to giving back to patients the ability to grow insulin-producing cells, and thus naturally regulate their blood sugar!

You can listen to an interview of Dr Rosenberg on his findings

The third and last lecture of this year will take place on Monday, December 3, by Dr. Ronald Olivenstein, MUHC Asthma Clinic Director. He will unveil to us the latest therapeutic breakthroughs to provide relief for asthmatic patients.

These lectures will give you an inside look at the intellectual vitality in our research laboratories and the enormous impact of this work on our daily lives.

The lectures will take place at the Montreal General Hospital in Livingston Hall (Room L6-500) starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free and anyone interested is welcome. The speakers will take questions from audience members during a discussion period following each lecture.
