McGill's Miller named Quebec university athlete of the week

MONTREAL - McGill rugby star Brianna Miller of Pte. Claire, Que., has been named female athlete of the week by the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ) for the period ending Sept. 11, 2011.

The 5-foot-5 fly-half on the women's rugby team, scored 26 points in a 71-0 victory at Sherbrooke last Saturday. A 19-year-old physical education sophomore, she scored a pair of tries and kicked an impressiveÌý eight conversions, the second-highest single-game total in Quebec university history, five converts short of the record for most conversions is 13. Miller is a product of John Abbott College and St. Thomas high school.

The male athlete of the week is Laval soccer player Gabriel Moreau of St. Hyacinthe, Que.
