Sophomore Krista Dunn of New Glascow, N.S., and Milda Sabiston, a freshman from Mississauga, Ont., each contributed one try for the winning side. Maggie Keating, a native of Bridgenorth, Ont., who transferred over to rugby after three years with the Martlets soccer team, rounded out the soring for McGill with one conversion.

"Our defence was absolutely outstanding, which is somewhat surprising after only a week of training camp," said McGill head coach Vince DeGrandpre, who singled out rookie Casey Thorborn as one of the team's top performers. "Casey is a very hard tackler. She came from the national under-20 team and is going to be a great addition to our lineup.

Claragh Pegg of Barie, Ont., and Elizabeth Hobbs of Stittsville, Ont., tallied one try apiece for the Gaels, while Bronwyn Corrigan added a penalty kick. The Gaels' regular-season campaign begins Sept. 10 at home against the Trent Excalibur.
