McGill Social Work Alumni Latest Victim of Terrorist Attacks in Mumbai

On November 30th, Elizabeth Russell, BSc (N) ’68, BSW’83, MSW’84, was killed in the terrorist attack at Victoria Station, Mumbai.ÌýÌý

Elizabeth began her career as a nurse at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she and Moss meet. After obtaining her BSW and MSW from McGill, she served individuals and families as a social worker at the Jewish General Hospital for the psychiatric in-patient unit for several years. In the years following, Elizabeth established a private practice in Westmount.

ÌýA devoted mother, Elizabeth leaves behind two daughters and a son who reside in Montreal. The School of Social Work extends its deepest sympathies to Elizabeth’s family and mourns the loss of an outstanding and invaluable colleague.
