McGill lacrosse five earn All-Canadian honors

MONTREAL – A school record five athletes from Ï㽶ÊÓƵ
have earned All-Canadian honours from the Canadian University Field
Lacrosse Association.
Third-year attackmen Nick Moreau of Trumbull, Conn., and Lukas
LaCava of Weston, Conn., both earned spots up front, while Scott
Bailey of Calgary and David Pinckney from Williston, Vt., were
picked at midfield and Brendan Farrer, a junior from Oakville,
Ont., was named on defence.
The 11-member squad, which represented the CUFLA Eastern
Conference, also featured three players from Trent University in
Peterborough, Ont., two from Bishop’s and one from Queen’s.
Moreau, the team captain and a two-time all-Canadian, led the
Redmen with 30 points, including 20 goals, in 10 regular season
games. Overall, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound arts and science junior
posted a 27-15-42 record in 14 contests
LaCava, a commerce major, registered a 24-8-32 record in 13 games
overall.
Bailey, an arts junior, had a 17-4-21 record in 13 contests.
Pinckney, who had two assists in 13 games, is a physiology senior
who has started as a defensive midfield specialist since his
freshman year.
Farrer, an economics junior who earned All-Canadian second team
honours last year, had one assist in 14 contests.
The Western Conference All-Canadians featured five players from
league champion Guelph, four from Brock, two from McMaster and one
from Western.
