McGill BCom students place 2nd at the Business Strategy Challenge (BSC 2012) at the Georgetown University
For a third year in a row, a McGill team placed top 3 at the Business Strategy Challenge hosted by Georgetown University in Washington DC. After placing third in 2010 and first in 2011, a team of four McGill BCom students placed second out of 20 universities at this year's competition which took place from February 14 to 18, 2012.  After a morning preliminary round against four other universities, the McGill team went on to the finals to finish second overall.
McGill's team consisted of BCom students Carrie Cheung, Alyssa Favreau, Abigail Liederman and Ava Yazdani.  All had taken Richard Donovan's "Case Analysis and Presentation" class.  Prof. Donovan also acted as their adviser and accompanied the team to Washington. Special thanks also goes out to Professors Angela Burlton, Larry Goldsman and Jui Ramaprasad who attended practice sessions and provided valuable coaching and feedback to the team.
A big congratulation to Carrie, Alyssa, Abigail and Ava for a truly exceptional performance!
The Business Strategy Challenge in its' 8th year, was created to further the mission of Hilltop Consultants, and of Georgetown University, to foster the growth of future business leaders who will serve our community. To that end, BSC only invites non-profit organizations to be competition clients. This year's year case client was Street Sense whose mission is to offer economic opportunities for people experiencing homelessness in the Washington DC community through a newspaper that elevates voices and encourages debate on poverty and injustice.
