MONTREAL -- Julia Bahen of Vancouver, B.C., scored the game-winner on a penalty-kick as the McGill women's soccer team skunked Concordia 3-0 to close out regular season play at Concordia stadium, Sunday.
Ìý
The Martlets thoroughly dominated, holding a lopsided 19-3 advantage in shots toward the net, a 7-1 difference in corner kicks and a 14-1 margin in crosses.
Ìý
Bahen tallied in the 27th minute of play, followed by an insurance marker eight minutes later from the foot of Alexandra Morin-Boucher. Rebecca Green put the game out of reach just five minutes into the second half, converting a pass from Hannah Kirby.
Ìý
The shutout was shared by starter Victoria Muccilli and Shimone Slomowitz. Muccilli played the first 71 minutes and made only one save to register the victory, while Slomowitz mopped up for the final 19 minutes and was not called upon to make any saves.

McGill ended up third in the Quebec conference with an 8-3-3 record and will take a 3-0-1 undefeated streak into the sudden-death semifinal at second-place Sherbrooke on Nov. 4 in a game slated for 6 p.m. start. The Vert & Or were the surprise of the season, posting a 10-2-2 record, including a pair of 2-1 victories over McGill.
Ìý
Division-leading Montreal (12-0-2) will host Laval (5-5-4) in the other semifinal.
Ìý
"Our undefeated streak is good for team morale as we now focus on preparing for post-season play," said Marc Mounicot, head coach of the Martlets, who have already qualified for the CIS national championships in two weeks as the host team.
Ìý
"We finished with the second-best goals against average in the league and more importantly, have not allowed a goal in our last four games. It has also been a big boost to have some of our injured players back in the lineup over the last two weeks.
Ìý
"We want to play two games next weekend (i.e. the conference semifinal and final) in order to have some momentum heading into the Nationals. There is no more question in my mind that our starting 11 will answer the call and play Sherbrooke with determination and ambition."
