Lots about clots: Learn how to protect yourself against DVT and embolism at Café Scientifique
CIHR-sponsored event for the public to take place at Java U, March 24
Deep venous thrombosis (DVT), the formation of blood clots in
the lower limbs, is the third most common vascular disease in North
America after heart attack and stroke, and is a frequent
complication in hospitalized patients.
DVT is a potentially serious condition that can lead to rapid death
from pulmonary embolism if untreated. DVT and pulmonary embolism
can affect adults of every age and ethnic group. Now, the Canadian
Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Café Scientifique and the
Jewish General Hospital are proud to present Lots About
Clots, a free event where thrombosis experts from the JGH
