IMPACT 2025: Working Together for Global Maternal, Newborn and Child Health - INVITATION to Canadian maternal and child health experts

2010 was a landmark year for the world’s women and children. Through the G8, Canada led a global effort to see that women and children do not die or suffer needlessly from preventable causes. Global and Canadian evidence is demonstrating that investments are having a tremendous impact. These results not only reflect a wiseÌý investment, but also the values of millions of Canadians who support this effort.

On October 3 - 4, the Canadian Network for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health along with Government of Canada partners, are meeting in Ottawa at the IMPACT 2025 Symposium. This is an opportunity to celebrate our success and to explore how collective Canadian innovation, leadership and collaboration can continue to dramatically improve the lives of the world’s poorest women and children.

Annual General Meeting – Friday, October 4 (12:15 pm – 1:30 pm)

Leaders from CAN-MNCH Partner organizations will meet to review the Terms of Reference, financial report and elect the representatives for the 2013-2015 term.

Linking Canada’s Research Expertise and Programmatic Activities – Wednesday, October 2 (4:00 pm – 7:00 pm Aga Khan Foundation, 199 Sussex Drive, Ottawa, Ontario)

In advance of the Symposium, we are hosting a meeting of Canada’s MNCH research experts. During this meeting, we are looking to determine strategies to most effectively link the available expertise of Canadian researchers with projects and programs implemented by Canadian NGOs and Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada.
