Dr. Kirsten Johnson, Canadian Consortium for Humanitarian Training (CCHT) founder, is Co-Director of the Humanitarian Studies Initiative for Residents at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ.  She is a leader in humanitarian professionalization, working on the development and application of competencies for training, education and certification for humanitarian responders globally.

Dr. Johnson has visited Nepal and trained many people on how to prepare for a humanitarian trip to Nepal.  The CCHT used a Nepal Earthquake simulation case study in training programs since it was a disaster with a high probability of occurring.  She can speak from both research and personal experience.
