Help in a time of need

Published: 16 May 2008

Some in the McGill community may have been affected by the devastating cyclone and earthquake disasters in Asia. McGill wishes to convey its deepest sympathies to any who have lost family or friends in these tragedies and offer our reassurance that we will provide what help we can in these very difficult moments.

Students affected by these disasters should contact International Student Services (3rd Floor, Brown Student Services Building, at 3600 McTavish St.). ISS will co-ordinate help and referrals to other services. Please contact Pauline L’Écuyer (514-398-4349) for an appointment.

Employees who are eligible for the benefit program may, of course, contact the Employee Assistance Program at 514-843-7009 or 1-800-567-2433.

In addition, employees should also feel free to discuss problems with their supervisor or ask their supervisor to refer them to the Human Resources Department for assistance.

Finally, the McGill Chaplaincy Service is also available for those who seek counseling and solace. Chaplains may be reached by telephone at 514-398-4101 or on their website. The office is at Suite 4400, Brown Student Services Building, 3600 McTavish St.
