Great performance of Québec researchers at last GAPP

Génome Québec is happy to report that Québec has achieved excellent results in the 5th cycle of the Genomic Applications Partnership Program (GAPP).

In total, Québec was awarded two of five research funding grants available under GAPP, a pan-Canadian Genome Canada competition created to foster partnerships between university researchers and industry end users. The projects funded as part of this program will promote the application of innovations that have significant short-term economic and social impact.

Congratulations to Québec research teams:Ìý

Dr. Christoph Borchers from the University of Victoria andÌýÏ㽶ÊÓƵ and Dr. Gerald Batist from Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, are working with AstraZeneca to validate new technology that will screen cancer patients to ensure they receive the most effective treatments.

Dr. Charles Goulet from Université Laval, is working with Vineland Research and Innovation Centre to use variation in aroma-related genes to develop more flavourful tomatoes.Ìý
