MONTREAL - The Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec and the Societé Radio-Canada have announced the signing of a new two-year broadcast agreement that gives SRC, the national French language service of the CBC, exclusive rights to carry RSEQ university football through the end of the 2012 season.

SRC will televise nine regular season games each season, as well as a pair of playoff games, including the Dunsmore Cup league championship. All contests will air live on Saturdays at 1 p.m. Eastern.

The Montreal Carabins are slated to be televised seven times in 2011, while Laval, the defending Vanier Cup champions, has three games on tap. Concordia will appear twice with single games planned for McGill, Sherbrooke, Bishop's and Saint Mary's.

The 2011 SRC broadcast schedule starts on Sept. 3 when Laval travels to Concordia to face the Stingers. McGill's lone appearance will be in Week 7, when the Redmen host Montreal in the annual McGill Homecoming game on Oct. 15.

Once again this year, an inter-league matchup is on the docket, when the Carabins play host to the Atlantic conference's Saint Mary's Huskies on Sept. 17. Also, both meetings in the hotly-contested rivalry between the Carabins and Laval are on the schedule (Sept. 10 and Oct. 8).

RSEQ will once again implement a flexible broadcast schedule in the final week of the regular season, affording SRC the choice to broadcast a game with the greatest impact on the playoffs.

SRC will bring fans more content this season during their coast-to-coast broadcasts, adding a 10-minute pre-game show as well as full half-time and post-game coverage. In certain local markets, SRC will be producing a 30-minute extended pre-game show at 12:30 Eastern.

Returning for his third season as the play-by-play voice of RSEQ university football is veteran SRC announcer Jean St-Onge, who will once again be joined in the booth by colour commentator Jacques Dussault. Sideline reporter Antoine Deshaies also returns to the broadcast team, while Marc Durand joins the on-air crew as the pre-game, half-time and post-game host. Durand will be joined by a guest analyst each week.

RSEQ university football games will continue to be produced jointly by SRC and Pierre Durivage of Rivage Productions.

All games will be simulcast on the SRC website at Radio-Canada.ca/sports where additional in-depth information on university football can be found.
