Four Redmen earn all-conference honours in soccer

MONTREAL - Striker Yohann Capolungo, a native of France, and defender Thomas Lucas of Kirkland, Que., are among four members of the McGill Redmen to merit a berth on the Quebec University Soccer League all-star team announced by the R茅seau du sport 茅tudiant du Qu茅bec.
听
They were both voted to the first team, while midfielder Olivier Babineau of Moncton, N.B., and defender Graeme Tingey of Vancouver, B.C., made the second dream team in balloting conducted by the QUSL's seven head coaches.
听
Laval's Julien Priol was named player of the year, while Maxime Laurey of the Montreal Carabins was picked rookie of the year and Laval's Samuel Georget won the citizenship award for best combining athletics with academics and community service. All three are also natives of France. Samir Grib of the Laval Rouge et Or, was chosen coach of the year.
听
Capolungo, selected all-conference for the thid straight season, tied for fourth among league leaders in goals and was ranked sixth in points with a 6-1-7 record in 12 matches. The 5-foot-9, 165-pound speedster is a finance junior.
听
Lucas, the team captain was a cornerstone to McGill's solid defensive game. The 5-foot-6 physical therapy senior was the second-leading point-getter on the Redmen with four points, including one goal.
听
Babineau, a 5-foot-8, 155-pound kinesiology major who transferred from Moncton, was the second-leading point-getter on the team with a 1-3-4 record.
听
Tingey, a finance senior, tallied once in 10 games. The 6-foot-2, 176-pound veteran was a calming influence on the field.
