Fit McGill still open!
If you were offered the opportunity to feel good and look good, all for the low price of $15, how long would it take you to pull out your wallet? For those of you intrigued by this offer, head down to the McGill Sports Complex and register in the staff fitness program, as registration is still open.
The lunch-hour program offers staff members the opportunity to work off stress and improve health through a varied selection of activities that include aqua fitness, badminton, aerobics, cycling, tennis, ball hockey, tai chi, belly dancing, yoga and Pilates.
The program is designed for beginners and veterans alike, providing exercise opportunities for McGill staff of all ages. To make it even more inclusive, the classes are staggered over the lunch hour between 12 and 2 pm. The convenient 45-minute classes allow staff enough time to grab a shower or a quick bite to eat before heading back to work.
Participation is encouraged by the University, which subsidizes the program. McGill understands the importance of exercise and is committed to offering its staff accessible, quality fitness opportunities at an affordable price. In its third year of operation, the program is a proven success. Approximately 500 staff members are currently taking advantage of this wonderful opportunity to squeeze a little exercise into their busy day.
"This is the best thing that McGill as an employer has done for its employees," said a happy McGill staff member. "It rates right up there with summer Fridays."
