On August 18, 2015, Drs. Bertrand Lebouché and Charo Rodriguez were awarded a grant totaling 160,000.00 CAD for their application to the Mitacs-Accelerate Internship Program (72,000 from the partner organization, Merck Inc, and 88,000 from Mitacs). Mitacs is a national, not-for-profit organization that supports research-based innovation, in part, through a research internship program designed to increase deployment of highly educated graduates into the private sector. The awarded funds will cover 3 two-year internships shared among 2 postdoctoral trainees (David Lessard and Isabelle Toupin) and 1 master’s trainee (Andras Lenart) with the Department of Family Medicine. Trainees will work on sub-studies affiliated with Dr. Lebouché’s I-Score Study: The development and validation of a patient-reported measure of antiretroviral therapy’s interference with life funded by Merck Inc and the CIHR Canadian HIV Trials Network (CTN 283).
