Dr. Lesley K. Fellows and Dr. Alyson Fournier appointed co-directors of MD-PhD Program

Dr. Richard I. Levin, Dean of Ï㽶ÊÓƵ’s Faculty of Medicine, is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Lesley K. Fellows, M.D., D.Phil., Assistant Professor at the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, and Dr. Alyson Fournier, PhD, Assistant Professor at the MNI’s Brain Tumour Research Centre, as Co-Directors of the MD-PhD Program at the Faculty of Medicine. They succeed Dr. Jacquetta Trasler, M.D.C.M., Ph.D, who has been appointed Associate Director for Pediatric Research at the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Health Centre (MUHC). Their four-year term commenced September 1, 2007.

As Co-Directors, Drs. Fellows and Fournier will be responsible for the administration of the MD-PhD program in addition to their existing duties at the MNI, including participating in Committee meetings, and contributing to the McGill Journal of Medicine and the Current Topics in Biomedical Sciences seminar series.

Dr. Levin extends his warmest gratitude to Dr. Trasler, a full professor at McGill’s Departments of Pediatrics, Human Genetics, and Pharmacology and Therapeutics, for her immense contribution to the development of the MD-PhD program, in particular through her role as member of the Ï㽶ÊÓƵ Committee, the Faculty Scholarships Committee and the MD-PhD Advisory Committee.
