Distinguished Service Award

The Department of Bioresource Engineering congratulates Dr. Robert Kok for being awarded a Distinguished Service Award at the 2009 annual NABEC meeting in Halifax, N.S.

(NABEC: Northeast Agricultural and Biological Engineering Conference of the ASABE).

"Dr. Robert Kok is awarded the NABEC 2009 Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding contributions to the engineering profession and long term support of NABEC activities. He has been a frequent contributor to NABEC meetings, served as an active member of the hosting committee for two meetings in Montreal and has provided support for many students to attend NABEC and other engineering activities. He also has served as President of CSBE/SCGAB and as a member of the ASABE Board of Trustees.

Dr. Kok has authored numerous journal articles and other publications and has been a frequent contributor to NABEC and other conferences. Much of his career has been dedicated to the advancement of engineering knowledge and the education of young engineers. Through his leadership the engineering profession has expanded into new areas, and he has developed many innovative ways to address the needs of society and humanity, including the developing world."
