Board approves Dr. Paul Allison's Decanal re-appointment
Principal and Vice-Chancellor Heather Munroe-Blum and Provost Anthony C. Masi are pleased to report that at its meeting of February 12, 2013, the University’s Board of Governors approved the following appointment.
Prof. Paul Allison has been reappointed, effective June 1, 2013, to a second five-year term as Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry.
Dedicated to improving community outreach and to ensuring tomorrow’s dentists keep the underprivileged uppermost in their minds, Prof. Allison, a William Dawson Scholar, earned a BDS (Bachelor in Dental Surgery) from University College London, a Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of England, an MSc in Dental Public Health from the London Hospital Medical School and a PhD in Dental Sciences from McGill.
Prof. Allison has done outstanding work in leading the Faculty as he and his colleagues develop a revitalized curriculum that utilizes the latest approaches to dealing with oral health, relies on innovation in teaching and learning, and emphasizes the fundamental importance of ensuring that all members of our society, regardless of their economic standing, have access to dental care.
