KINGSTON - Defencemen Marc-Andre Dorion and Keven Dupont staked McGill to a 2-0 lead as the No.2-ranked Redmen cruised to a 5-0 road shutout over Royal Military College at Constantine Arena, Friday.
Ìý
It was the seventh consecutive conquest for the OUA-leading Redmen, who racked up a 58-18 margin in shots, including a 20-4 advantage in the opening period.

"I thought we played a good 60-minute road game," said McGill head coach Kelly Nobes, who collected his 193rd victory overall in 11 seasons. "We generated a lot of shots, our power-play scored, we got a goal from our penalty-killing unit and it seems like we had fresh legs on every shift."
Ìý
Rookie goaltender Mark Segal of Vancouver, B.C., made 18 saves to register his first career shutout in 11 games overall. He improved to 8-1 in OUA play, lowering his stingy goals-against average to 2.21 and save percentage to .927, ranking third among OUA leaders in both categories.
Ìý
Dorion's power-play marker at 4:44 of the opening stanza proved to be the game winner and was his sixth goal of the campaign, tops among all CIS rearguards. The two-time all-Canadian also leads in points with 30 in 19 games.
Ìý
Dupont's marker was his first-ever in 29 regular-season games and his teammates saved the puck for the 5-foot-11, 190-pound sophomore, who hails from St. Charles de Bellechasse, Que. He also scored one in a preseason contest against the U.S. Air Force Academy, Oct. 3, 2011.

Christophe Longpre-Poirier, a junior from Longueuil, Que., made it 3-0 with his fifth of the season at 2:31 of the second period. All-Canadian sniper Francis Verreault-Paul put the game out of reach when he converted a faceoff won by Nicolas Biniek and connected for his 13th at 15:05 of the middle session. Despite missing five games this season, the 22-year-old psychology senior is only two goals shy of the league lead in that department.
Ìý
Maxime Langelier-Parent of Lery, Que., rounded out the scoring in the final stanza with his league-leading fourth shorthanded goal at the 25-second mark, converting passes from Hubert Genest and Marc-Andre Daneau. It was the eighth shorthanded tally of the season for McGill, one shy of Carleton, the league leaded in that department. The Redmen single-season team record is 11 SHGs, established in 2009-10.

McGill, which improved to 16-1-2 with nine games remaining before playoffs, will continue their road trip with a game against Toronto (9-7-3) at Varsity Arena on Saturday at 7 p.m. RMC, which dropped to 3-15-1, play at Concordia (9-8-2) on Saturday afternoon.
