MONTREAL - Steven Bielby of Pointe Claire, Que., and Caroline Hill of Dorval, Que., are the McGill University athletes of the week for the period ending on Feb. 13, 2011.

Bielby, a 21-year-old electrical engineering junior with the men's swim team, won three gold medals and a pair of silvers at the Quebec conference championships, where he was named male athlete of the year.Ìý The 5-foot-8 middle distance specialist won both the 200 and 400-metre individual medleys, posting times of 2:01.65 and 4:20.97, respectively. His time in the 200 was a Quebec championship meet record. In addition, he swam the third leg of the winning 4x50 freestyle relay, which was clocked in a McGill record time of 1:30.33. The 5-foot-5 forward had been battling flu-like symptoms since returning from Turkey earlier in the week where she helped Canada win gold at the FISU Games. She was held off the scoresheet in a Feb. 11 win over Concordia but bounced back the next night to register the seven-point soiree. Hill enrolled at McGill in 2006 after attending the Loomis Chaffee School.
