Wall Street Journal: Tom Petty wasn’t holding a grudge against Sam Smith for the similarities between his “I Won’t Back Down” from 1989 and “Stay With Me”—Mr. Smith’s triple Grammy-nominated hit—ended months of nail-biting for Grammy officials. While Mr. Petty’s feelings certainly were eased by the agreement reached to add him and Jeff Lynne to the song’s writing credits and share the royalties, the cliffhanger was a fitting prequel to this year’s awards ceremony, taking place in Los Angeles on Feb. 8.
