Eating Popcorn like a Lawyer: Featuring Marc Lemieux
Organized in collaboration with the Sciences Po Law School, ‘Eating Popcorn like a Lawyer’ is a seminar series that seeks to establish a continuous dialogue between the fields of law and film. For each session we invite a prominent legal scholar to select, discuss and analyze a thought-provoking film.
Join us to discuss Steven Spielberg’s modern classic (2002) with banking and payment law expert, lecturer and avid moviegoer (Lemieux Law Firm & McGill Faculty of Law). Together we will shine critical light on the romantic depiction of bank account fraud and law enforcement. The film’s focus on a rich victim (Pan Am) obfuscates the pain and shame that criminals, cold-hearted “customer care” employees and unfit police officers inflict on real victims on a daily basis all around the world.
The film is to be watched beforehand. Through the McGill Library it is .
