Third McGill Conference on Global Food Security

Ï㽶ÊÓƵ is once again very pleased to deliver its conference on Global Food Security, with an exciting program and a gathering of distinguished international experts debating the challenges associated with water, nutrition and food scarcity.

Conference highlights include a free Public Lecture on Tuesday October 19 at 5pm at the Centre Mont Royal.  Keynote speaker Dr. David Nabarro, UN Secretary General's Special Representative on Food Security and Nutrition, will speak on “A global perspective on prospects for Food and Nutrition Security:  the work of the UN High Level Task Force.â€

Conference presentations and discussions on October 20 and 21 seek to address the present challenges of water scarcity and malnutrition in food security. International experts, scholars, and policy makers from several countries affected by food security, water scarcity and malnutrition will present their unique perspectives on the current situation and engage in a dialogue to find long-term solutions. More than 30 confirmed speakers from countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas will present results of their on-going efforts to provide a better quality of life for 2-billion of the world's poorest.

The 2010 McGill Conference on Global Food Security promises to inspire, engage and address the many water and food security issues that profoundly impact millions around the globe.
