Research Exchange Forum: What's the best fit? Deciding how to collect data

Wednesday, March 12, 2008 12:15to13:45
Education Building 3700 rue McTavish, Montreal, QC, H3A 1Y2, CA
Co-hosts: Nicole Fiore (MA student, DISE) and Dr. Teresa Strong-Wilson (DISE). Panelists: Drs. Enrique Garcia (KPS) and Roy Lyster (DISE); Christine Stocek (PhD student, DISE); Valerie Nesset (PhD candidate, SIS). In conducting research in the field, how can we most effectively use new and familiar technologies (viz., tape recorders, digital voice recorders, digital/video cameras, pencil and notebook, etc.), especially given the increasingly wide array of media and models at our disposal? What criteria can we draw on in selecting tools appropriate to our research context? The panelists (faculty and graduate students from across disciplines) will share their research experiences and collective wisdom.
