McGill ACA Colloquium
The McGill Student Chapter of the Association of Canadian Archivists cordially invites all interested students, archivists, related professionals, faculty and staff to attend its upcoming colloquium on April 24, 2008.
The colloquium themes are:
Tradition to Innovation: Archival Principles Today & The
Importance of Developing Professional Competencies.
Opening Address:
Theresa Rowat, Director and University Archivist, McGill
University.
Student Paper Sessions:
Tradition to Innovation, Professional Competencies.
Plenary Speaker:
Terry Cook - "Mindless Ox, Efficient Vacuum Cleaner, Compliant
Handmaiden, or Invisible Ghost: Towards a New Role for Archivists
in the Twenty-First Century". Terry Cook's leadership led to the
re-engineering of the government records disposition program at
Library and Archives Canada in 2002-2004. The framework of
accountability has grown since the launch of Cook's macroappraisal
program at the (former) National Archives of Canada in
1990-1991.
Closing Address:
Dr. Eun Park, Assistant Professor, School of Information Studies,
