New members and resident scholars

As approved by its Board of Directors, CIRM recently welcomed two new members:

  • — Associate Professor, Department of Anthropology and School of Religious Studies, Ï㽶ÊÓƵ; research interests: christianity, messianic judaism, material and sensory studies, anthropology of religion, capitalism and consumption, global networks and imaginaries, and space, place and landscape.
  • — Postdoctoral Fellow, Canadian Centre for German and European Studies, Université de Montréal; research interests: human mobility, social theory, urban sociology, communicative action, and digital literacy.

...and two new resident scholars:

  • — Ph.D. in History, Oxford University; research project: the presence of international students in Montreal universities, with particular emphasis on better understanding the mechanisms and processes that affect their ability to remain in Montreal after graduation.
  • — Postdoctoral Fellow, School of Urban Planning and Landscape Architecture, Université de Montréal; research project: Montreal’s public markets, specifically their management and the role played by major public property halls in Montreal today.

Also noteworthy is the status renewal of resident scholars  (Institute for Canadian Jewish Studies, Concordia University) and  (Department of French-Language Literatures, Translation, and Creative Writing, Ï㽶ÊÓƵ) for the 2020–2021 academic year.

The CIRM team looks forward to (re)collaborating in the advancement and dissemination of their respective research!
