I Medici di McGill: Benefit concert for Viva!Sistema in Montreal
Presenting Cellist Prodigy Stéphane Tétreault in a Concert to Benefit Children's Music Education in Point St. Charles
Under the direction of maestro Iwan Edwards, I Medici di McGill presents a Benefit Concert to supportViva!Sistema, a music education program for elementary school children in Point St. Charles. The concert features works by Antonin Dvorak: his Symphony No. 9 “From the New World,” and the Cello Concerto in B minor with Stéphane Tétreault. Children in the music program will also perform.
Stephane is one of Canada’s most promising young cellists. In addition to being selected to compete in the prestigious 2011 Tchaikovsky International Competition, Stéphane received numerous award including the First Prize in the Montreal Symphony Orchestra Standard Life-OSM 2007 Competition, the 2013 Choquette-Symcox Award from the Jeunesses Musicales du Canada Foundation, and the F. Lindsay Award 2013.
Viva!Sistema is a program of the Quebec Music Educators Association, that provides free music lessons to children after school. Without our support, this important program cannot continue.
Tickets
Regular tickets: $30; Donor: $100 (includes $70 tax deductible donation). Donor ticket holders are invited to a post-concert reception to meet the artists, teachers and the honorary committee.
Advance tickets can be purchased at our website . Please consider making an additional contribution to Viva!Sistema to ensure the continuation of this program.
