Professor Churchland will deliver the Dorothy J. Killam lecture entitled " The impact of social neuroscience on moral philosophy " on Tuesday, June 7th, 2016 at 4:00 pm. The lecture will take place in the R. Howard Palmer Amphitheatre of the McIntyre Medical Building.
A reception will follow in the adjacent foyer.
Patricia Smith Churchland
Patricia Smith Churchland is Professor Emerita of Philosophy at the University of California, San Diego, and an adjunct Professor at the Salk Institute. Her research focuses on the interface between neuroscience and philosophy. She is author of the groundbreaking book, Neurophilosophy (MIT Press 1986), co-author with T. J. Sejnowski of The Computational Brain (MIT 1992). Her current work focuses on morality and the social brain; Braintrust: What Neuroscience tells us about Morality 2011 Princeton U P) which received the Prose Prize for science.
