"SPMB | Practising Public Space." Eduardo Aquino graduated in Architecture and Urban Studies in Brazil and worked with architects Paulo Mendes da Rocha and Oscar Niemeyer before coming to Canada in 1988. Here he has collaborated with artists Irene Whittome, Tony Brown, Dan Graham, Tadashi Kawamata, Jana Sterbak, Rodney Graham, Arni Haraldsson among others. Since graduating with an MFA degree in Open Media from Concordia University in 1993 he has been teaching art, architecture, urbanism, and liberal arts along with developing projects for galleries and public spaces in Canada, USA, Brazil and Europe. During the past few years Aquino has been concerned with questions connected to public space, alternative practices, and the cross-breeding zone between art and architecture.
