Media@McGill will kick off Disabilities Awareness Week with a free public panel titled The panel will be accompanied by an online exhibition.
The week will also feature many other events, such as a financial advice workshop, therapy dogs, an information session on disclosing disability in the workplace, an American Sign Language Workshop and a discussion on Making Space for Disability in the Legal Profession. Various Montreal organizations including AMI Quebec, Mackay Rehabilitation Centre, McGill's Concussion Support Group, Seeing Voices Montreal and others will provide informational materials, and answer questions at kiosks in the University Centre (SSMU), Leacock, New Residences, and Royal Victoria College.
Come and join us as we raise awareness of barriers people with disabilities experience, highlighting inclusive practices and policies that reduce barriers, widen access and value diversity in a wide variety of contexts.
