Media@McGill is pleased to invite you to the first of two workshops entitled Storming Wikipedia. Our goal is to create or edit more Wikipedia entries about women scholars, and to train students, staff and faculty members how to edit in Wikipedia. This initiative is part of a series of workshops Media@McGill is organizing on the theme, “Internet for Academics.â€
The first workshop will be on Friday, March 7, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. to mark International Women’s Day. The workshop will be facilitated by Christina Haralanova, a PhD student at Concordia University. It will include a step-by-step lesson on how to edit in Wikipedia, and a collective brainstorm on which Wikipedia entries we wish to add, correct, or expand. The second workshop (date to be determined) will be the actual edit-o-thon.
This workshop is open to McGill students, staff and faculty.
Date: Friday, March 7, 2014
Time: 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m.
